In Glenn Harlan Reynolds’ article “How gun laws put the innocent on trial” (November 9, 2015), he emphasizes on how strict gun control laws punish innocent people relentless when having possession of guns without doing any harm. The author first supports his argument with satire by targeting the police; Reynolds then shares relevant anecdotes concerning his argument of gun control laws; and to conclude he supports his claim with Irony. His purpose is to explain how the system is busy targeting citizens who bear arms without permits instead of the pursuit of actual criminals whom are murders, rapists, etc. Reynolds seems to have a broad audience in mind because she well argues how peaceful citizens particularly minorities, are severely punish for simple mistakes concerning gun control instead of acting upon actual violent crimes.
